Protecting your privacy is important to us

Because we collect information about the customers and visitors of this site, we think you should understand what information we collect and how it will be used.

We make our privacy policy available because we want to show that we take your privacy seriously.

We feel that whatever we do, customer privacy always comes first. This means that when we have to decide how to use information from our websites, it must pass a test. Is the customer’s privacy compromised in any way? If the answer is yes, then we don’t do it.

If you feel that we am not abiding by this privacy policy, please contact us by email at [email protected].

This policy will explain our guidelines for using and protecting your information.

What information do we collect?

There are two types of information we collect when you use this website: Anonymous and Personally Identifiable.

Anonymous Information is information that cannot be used to identify a person. Examples include general website traffic and information such as the total number of people who visit our websites. We use this information to improve our sites because we want to make them the best they can be.

Personally Identifiable Information is information that tells us specifics about you, such as name, email, address, and phone number. We only collect this information with your consent. The information collected depends on which service you use. We use this to deliver personalised information to you. An example is our email lists. We only ask for your email address so we can send you information.

To improve security, we use external providers to safeguard your email addresses.

Unless required to do so by law, we will never knowingly share personal identifiable information with outside parties. Your information will not be sold or made available to marketing agencies or outside parties. We never use or share personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the reasons you provided them.

Accounts

When you register an account with me, we’ll ask you to provide information including your first name, email address, credit card/payment details and account information like username and password. I use this information to:

  • Send you information about your account, orders, courses, and memberships
  • Communicate with you about courses and memberships in which you are enrolled
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account so you can access my site
  • Comply with any legal obligations I may have
  • Improve the website’s offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

Credit/debit card security

Credit/Debit card information is not stored by us on our servers.

Your credit card number is sent in encrypted form to our credit card processor. (View Stripe’s Privacy Policy).

This means humans can not read it. It also means that if someone is intercepting your internet traffic the card number is scrambled. No one can read it except our credit card processing company.

We use secure servers (SSL) and extra strong encryption. On our site when you see the URL change from “http://” to “https:// ” all data transmission is encrypted so that other people snooping around the net can not read the data.

Thus using your credit card on our site is very safe. In fact it is more safe than using your credit card at a restaurant or store where someone can easily write down all the information from your card.

As a final comfort, most credit card companies will drop a credit card charge if you tell them you never made the charge. They have to do this to stay in business.

Email privacy

See our email policy.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. I use cookies to help me identify and track visitors, their usage of the Websites, and their website access preferences. Website visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the Websites, with the drawback that certain features of Atomic Automations’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

If you leave a comment on the website you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this website, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

When you watch a video on the website, my video hosting provider, Vimeo, saves a cookie in your browser that supports video functionality like closed-captions and other preferences, saves your playback position, and tracks views.

Google Analytics gathers information allowing me to understand interactions with the website and ultimately refine that experience to better serve you.

Analytics

I may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its websites. I may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, I will not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described herein.

I and my third party partners may use technologies from time to time, like web beacons, pixels (or “clear gifs”) and other tracking technologies. These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enables me to recognise when someone has visited the Website or, in the case of web beacons, opened an e-mail that I have sent them. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within the Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to the Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to serve targeted advertisements to you and others like you, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of marketing campaigns. While you may not have the ability to specifically reject or disable these tracking technologies, in many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly; accordingly, in those instances, declining cookies will block or impair functioning of these technologies.

Targeted online advertising

We have engaged one or more third party service providers to track and analyse both individualised usage and volume statistical information from interactions with the Websites. I also partner with one or more third parties (such as advertisers and ad networks) to display advertising on the Websites and/or to manage and serve advertising on other sites.

These third parties use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and similar tracking technologies to collect and use certain information about your online activities, either on the Websites and/or other sites or mobile apps, to infer your interests and deliver you targeted advertisements that are more tailored to you based on your browsing activities and inferred interests (“Interest Based Advertising”). For more information about this practice, click here: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/.

Our third party service providers may also use cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to the Websites and/or other sites to measure and track the effectiveness of advertisements and my online marketing activities (for example, by collecting data on how many times you click on one of my ads). The information collected by these third parties does not include personal information that enables you to be specifically identified (e.g. by reference to your name or email address).

Where do I send your data?

When consenting to receive information about courses and memberships which you are enrolled in, your email address, first name, and last name will be added to ActiveCampaign, my email marketing service provider. For more information, please refer to ActiveCampaign’s Privacy Policy.

When you provide your credit/debit card details, that information is sent to Stripe, my payment processor, in a secure, encrypted format. For more information, please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Data security

We store very limited customer and supplier information on our computer systems. To protect that information, we have physical, electronic, and managerial systems and procedures in place.

Business Transfers

If Atomic Automation, or substantially all of my assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Atomic Automation goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Atomic Automation may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

Privacy on websites that this site links to?

Our websites may have links to other sites providing information and services. These sites have their own data and privacy practices that we cannot be held responsible or liable for.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this website, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
